Sex Offenders Can't Read Maxim
1) Sex Offender By Law
The Sex Offender By Law is your standard person under 26 who engages in consensual sex with a minor over 12. This person doesn't have some sort of sick sexual compulsion. They just lack good judgement, and make the decision to commit an illegal act by engaging in sexual contact with a person who is not of legal age to consent to that very act. An 18 year old who had sex with a 13 year old is, by law, a sex offender. This person generally isn't someone who is a threat to society. Only a threat to your daughter's innocence and emotional well being.
The Sexual Assaulter
First of all, I didn't think "assaulter" was a word, but it is so I'm using it. The Sexual Assaulter is a person who makes sexual contact with another against their will. This ranges from a simple ass grabbing to full blown rape. The threat of the this person to society is completely dependent on their crime. It could just be a guy who was trying too hard to get some booty and who was just being persistent. It could also be someone who is completely fucked up in their head, and who wants to rape women simply because of deep psychological issues. Remember, those with the deep psychologic issues, which are more often than not unfixable, are the treats to society.
The Child Molester
The Child Molester is the straight up, no good, motherfucking piece of shit who should spend every single day of their life in prison after they have been convicted. Joseph Duncan, John Couey, etc. These people have no hope of recovering. There are deep psychologic issues in play here that are simply unfixable. They have a sickness and is not curable, and it compels them to do these things. It's not a legitimate "sickness." It's just them. It happens due to traumatic and abusive childhoods. And they're as good as dead. They are a dog with rabies, breeding more people just like them with every victim they create.
So those are the three general categories. As for the first group, they probably shouldn't be labeled as sex offenders. By law, they are indeed sex offenders. But I think there needs to be some sort of ditinction between the 20 year old kid with a 14 year old girlfriend and the 40 year old man with 10 year old victims.
So with all that said, I'd like to talk about this story that comes out of Miami, Florida. Miami police are sending a type 2 sex offender to jail for violating the terms of his probation. What did he do? He had a copy of Maxim.
Andrew Calderon, 23, was jailed for 6 days before a judge let him go. According to the terms of his condition, he is not allowed to have sexually stimulating material. Calderon was convicted of "sexual battery on a disabled relative." Definitely a sick fuck, but he is still only a type 2 offender. And to deprive this guy, who is still a piece of shit, a "racy" magazine is just fucking stupid and wrong. I will prove their idiocy later.
We move on to the second person mentioned in this article, Joseph Conte. His crime was not mentioned, but he is a sex offender. HE was arrested after his parole officer found a sex manual in his drawer next to the bed he shares with his wife. Again, I must say "What the fuck?" He's not allowed to view racy material, yet he's allowed to fuck his wife? Where is the consistency and logic in that?
Both of these guys are clearly pieces of shit. But they certainly aren't on the level of the Duncan's and Couey's. Why would you want to deprive a Sexual Assaulter of a racy maganize? The whole reason he raped someone in the first place was because he wasn't getting any action. He went nuts! And you're gonna deprive him of masturbation material? What do you think that's going to accomplish? That's probably the best way to get him to rape again. Good going, assholes.
I mean, don't get me wrong. Calderon is a pretty sick fuck. He "sexually assaulted" a retarded relative. He probably has some of those deep psychologic issues I spoke of. But he's out of jail, so obviously they felt he was at least somewhat rehabilitated. There is no point in throwing him in jail for reading Maxim. This is the best way to get someone to sexually assault again. It's exactly the same as making it part of a convicted thief's parole that he not work. If you make it illegal for a thief to work, then what will he do to get money? Gee, I think he just might steal. Let the fucking guy reading Maxim, it's not even that bad.
As for Conte, I think it's obvious. It was a fucking sex manual, in a drawer, next to the bed that he shares with his wife. What do you think he's using that for? Now, if this guy is a type 3 offender, then I would say good. I would say they should use that violation of parole to put his stupid fucking sick ass back in jail. The article doesn't state his crime though. I'm guessing that if he as a wife, he probably isn't a type 3.
I never thought I'd be defending a sex offender, but this shit is just fucking stupid. When I see Florida Authorities, my state, doing things that are completely counterproductive to their cause, I get pissed. You don't deny a (piece of shit) sexual assaulter the right to read a racy, non-pornographic magazine. And you just don't deny a (piece of shit) sex offender the right to read a book that will allow him to better please his wife. Yet, a small part of me still feels like they both deserve to be fucked with. But in the end, I just think that they're making things worse. Find a different way to fuck with them, but don't abuse your power.

This is something I have done a lot of reading on from Psychopathis Sexualis to the DSM to the FBIs manual on sex offenders. There are a couple of points I want to make.
I think the police went a little overboard here in their definition of the material. There is an extremely strong link between sex offenders and pornography and that is why they are prohibited from possessing it. That being said this doesn't qualify and I have a better idea. Don't let them out of jail and then you don't have to regulate it.
People don't rape because they aren't getting any. I understand how people with normal minds think that because we have sex when we are horny. The rapists and molesters see sex as a weapon to get what they want. They use their penis just like anyone else uses a gun to terrify and belittle their victims. A lot of molesters are incapable of "sex" as we know it because of their dysfunctions.
Someone who assaults a retarded relative should never be out of jail. Think of it this way. Is there anything I could do to you to "make" you sexually assault someone. No and the reason is that you are normal. For the same reason he cant and doesn't need to be made to assault again because he will. no doubt he will and it makes me ill that we let these people out to do this over and over. IT is a sad sad commentary on our society.
BTW on my blog I wrote an email to a judge who gave a guy 30 days for trying to meet a high school sophmore for sex, the man was 65. He just wrote me back. His response was You have a right to your opinion.
You know the more I thought about this the more I had to come back and make one more comment. Aside form hating molesters and rapists and thinking they should never be released which should be obvious from my earlier post.....Since they were paroled and since this is the system we have....How can you lock them up for Maxim magazine? You could go to any molesters house who has a Sunday paper and lock them up for the bra ads that come with the paper. It seems the more we cry out for controls of molesters like Jet Duncan instead of real laws and control this is the kind of crap we get.

Very good point. I believe 18-15 is morally ok. I mean, I'm 19 and my girlfriend is 17. But actually, in Florida, it is legal for a 16 year old to have sex with a 24 year old. That is the spectrum. Give or a take a year and you're a sex offender. I think that's way too much anyways. Way too much. Florida is fucked. That should probably be more like 20-16.
However, 18 and 15 is illegal in Florida. The age of consent is 16. In fact, it's illegal for two people under 16 to have sex in Florida. Trust me, I was nearly arrested for this when I was 14, and the other girl was also 14. I had to go in and give an interview and everything. It was terrible. But that's Florida. Thanks for that point, Kat. Very good point indeed.

You make a few good points James. However, I have to disagree. If you tell a child not to do something, they do it. You can't tell a sex offender not to look at porn, because not only will they do it, but the pressure and burden of not being able to do it may actually cause them to re-offend.
I know that people don't rape simply because they go crazy from not getting booty. When I implied that, I was being a bit facetious. And I definitely understand the "penis as a weapon" idea. And I definitely agree with the theory.
It's possible that he won't reoffend. It's possible that prison worked. I haven't done a lot of studying of rapists as you have, so I may be a bit ignorant. But from what I understand, rape doesn't seem to be a compulsion like molestation is. And if it is, then it seems to be more controllable. I think prison could break something like that.
As for the end part of your comment... 30 days is way too light. Then again, I don't think this was the standard "sick fuck"/"deep psychological issues" attempt to molest. It was probably more along the lines of "I want some teenage booty because I'm getting old." Perhaps the Judge has been there himself! If it were me, I'd give him 6 months and probation.

As for your second post... I believe what we have found out about Duncan is only the tip of the iceberg. Expect me to talk about him a lot more. They're going to be piling shit on this sick fuck. The last paragraph of that article just makes me fucking sick... I have no idea how this fucking piece of shit was able to do this... There are just so many big ass red flags. I know what to blame... Liberalism.

Another good point, that I didn't even really realize. If Maxim goes, then that means he can't read the newspaper, watch any TV, etc. Hell, he can't even goto the beach. It's just stupid. It just doesn't make sense...

The 3 types thing was just a pretty quick and general classification from my research. And when I say my research, I mean reading hundreds of sex offender profiles from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website. I study them. Most times, you can tell just by looking at them.
And I fully agree. And I'm glad you understand the classifications as I do. Type 2's who Rape by forcefully fucking and Type 3's need to be shot and killed the day of their conviction. Well, maybe just the really REALLY bad type 2's. I mean, I think a general rapist could be rehabilitated with a very long prison sentence. But the serial rapists, and rapists who do it involving a weapon, these people are sick beyond any help.

That's okay great minds can disagree :)
However, if you have a chance pick up a book called the Rapist Files by the time you are half way through it you will see rape in a totally different light. It is a collection of interviews of convicted rapist. It is them stating in their own words how and why they committed their crimes. It is very insightful as to how they view their victims as well as themselves.
I don't see much of a distinction between any of the classes of sex crimes. Rapist, molesters, and old men seeking out teenagers they are all trying to live out a sexual fantasy that they are compelled to act out. The research shows that they will all offend again and can not be rehabilitated.
I have people close to me that have been raped. Personally I would give the offender a piece of lead instead of jail time, but short of that sexual predators should be locked up for good.
BTW I agree TV would be the worst thing they could watch. Certainly more so than Maxim magazine. Saying that someone is so weak that an image would set them off is almost conceding that they are not fit to be in society.

I would definitely be interested in that book. My personal favorite thing to study is human behavior. I love analyzing actions. I love being able to see the truth through peoples' actions.
I think there's a pretty significant distinction between sex crimes. There is a different between the serial rapist and the old man who wants young booty. One is compelled by deep psychological issues that are extremely complex. The other is compelled by simple horniness accompanied by poor decision making.
And by the way, after reading some legal stuff, I have come to the conclusion that the first guy I talked about didn't rape his retarded family member. He only 'sexually assaulted', which in legal terms means he only touched. He probably fondled her or something. Horrible, yes, but not as bad as rape. Just wanted to clarify that.
I just love reading about how the mind works in general. I'm absolutely fascinated by simple things. You can tell so much about a person just by looking at their car, or any other random feature. Is it automatic or manual? Stuff like that, it's neat.
Me too Matt I am thinking about returning to school to finish my psychology degree. I simply love studying humans. I used to sit in the mall for hours and simply take notes and observe people.
One last thing about sex crimes. I believe there is a definite difference between the motives and degree of depravity in sex offenses. I should have been more clear on my statement. I think they are all depraved and done for psychological reasons.
A man of 65 could pick up an 18 or 21 year old and still be getting young, hot, and legal sex. It says something about him psychologically that he chooses specifically a girl who is 16. Or rather I should say it is important in HIS mind that she be "illegal" for him. To me that is the distinction that makes it not a man simply looking for young booty but a man looking to satisfy a psychological deviation he has. I hope that makes more sense.

What did it for me was the John Douglas books. He used to be an FBI profiler and his books go into detail about some of the sickest crimes you have ever heard of. I found them and people that could do such a thing simply fascinating and horrifying all at once.
