Couey Is Doomed
The soulless attorney of John Couey is attempting to have the judge removed from the case on grounds that he is not giving them enough time to prepare for the case. He set the trial date at February 2nd, 2006. Couey committed this crime in February of 05.I just don't know how the fucking piece of shit sleeps at night. For those who don't know, John Couey abducted Jessica Lunsford, molested her for a few days, then buried her alive in a shallow grave behind the trailer he was living in with his redneck inbred drug induced family. This all happened in my county, where I work, where family lives. I have a very vested interest in this case.
First off, how can a year not be enough time? Why would Couey want to waive his constitutional right to a speedy trial? If he's not guilty, as he has pleaded, how could he possibly need more than a year? I know why.
It's because that evil lawyer of his would love to make himself famous by getting him off the hook. And he certainly would need a lot more than a year to do that. Let's look at the evidence.
1. He fucking admitted it. There's no getting around this. The motherfucker admitted to doing it, yet he's still pleading not guilty on all counts. What the fuck?
2. She was found buried alive in two separate garbage bags, one over her feet and the other over hear head, clutching a stuffed animal. Behind the house where he was staying. How can this be explained? Was someone trying to frame him? Hmm? Was it one of the pieces of shit who he lived with? My god, if I ever find out where those motherfuckers live, I will knock on their door and beat them in the face with a hammer.
3. He's a convicted sex offender. Gee, I wonder what type of person might abduct, rape, and kill a 9 year old girl. I'm guessing it could be a sex offender, but I could be wrong. You know, the type of people who have already committed a crime like that. If someone stole something of mine, I'd be asking who's a thief. Thiefs steal and sex offenders fuck little kids.
With those 3 massive facts, how could he possibly be found not guilty? It's not not possible. It won't happen, and Couey is going to be put to fucking death and I'm going to do everything I can to be in there watching. I am a member of the press, god dammit.
I really wish they still used the chair. I'd really like to watch someone die like that dude with the mouse in Green Mile. That one guard wanted to fuck with him, and didn't sponge his head before they put his little hat on. And he wouldn't die. They kept electrocuting him and he wouldn't die because skin doesn't conduct electricity too well, and a sponge filled with water on the head is needed to kill someone in a quick, not so horrific fashion.
That's what Couey should get. I would love to see him suffer. Fucking eyeballs popping out of his skull. That's what I'm talking about. And that's what he deserves. If you were Jessica Lunsford's father, would you want anything less?

If someone did that to MY daughter, I would spend every last dollar I have, every last cent, to get a hold of that fucker and save the taxpayers and the court system millions.

If I was Jessica Lunsford's father, I would want this ugly person to be lowered on a cord from an airplane, hanging upside down 40,000 feet above the earth until he wakes up and deal with his demons, and bring them immediately to confession to a priest.
After that, I would want him to live in prison the rest of his life with the picture of my daughter on the wall. I would visit him every week to talk about the beauty of my daughter (that will be a great torment) and I would want him to be obliged to participate in religious classes (that will be a great punishment).
I believe this is the greatest punishment a man can suffer in this world: it is to set him free from his demons.
I don't know why people keep them. May be because they're ashamed. Msy be because of Pride. I think pride is the source of all evil.
What would have happened if this Couey thing went to confession at the beginning of his deadly fantasies?
He would have been liberated. But he preferred to keep them and live with them alone, in secret, until he hit the wall.
Why did he allow himself to get to this point?
Because he had no hope. He did not search for hope.
I hate pride. I hate angry people. They think they are the only people who suffer in this world, so they decide to hurt themselves and others.
What a great stupidity.
I'll just put it this way. If I were the parent, I hope I would be strong enough in my faith to forgive him, but I'm not saying I could. I would want him to spend the rest of his life in prison (and I actually agree with anthony on this one) with my daughter's picture on his wall. To remind his soul what he has done. He might not have a "soul" as we see it, but death is too easy for someone like this. You feel pain for just a short period of time, and then you go into shock. I don't think it is quite the "revenge" most people are looking for. It might make you feel good for a while, but eventually the hate would go away. I do believe as you, Matt, the lawyer is just looking for fame.

Sorry for the rant and rave Matt but I have an eye infection that hurts like a mofo and it's put me in a shabby mood :/ but I have to agree with you, I've read The Green Mile too; Stephen King owns and people like Couey and Duncan and the rest of the evil filth in this world need to die just like it was described in the book.

I find your punishment for Couey to be quite bizarre. But I understand it is your angelic way of dealing with people who commit horrific crimes.
I find it shocking to see you use the word "hate"
a few times. Usually, I don't see that sort of talk from you. I think you hate psychotic people who don't know how to deal with their anger. Believe it or not, most people are angry. I myself am more angry than most, and I deal with it in a healthy, entertaining, and legal way.

We will fundamentally agree here. I don't believe in an afterlife. You do. And our beliefs when it comes to punishing those who commit horrific crimes vary greatly. I don't believe in forgiveness for anyone who crosses a line. He catapulted himself over the line. He deserves the worst possible, and forgiveness is about the last possible thing he deserves. I just don't know how that word is possible for anyone to utter about this man, or anyone who rapes and kills a child. He buried her alive, man... Imagine that death for a minute. Then wonder if you, as a father, could even think of anything but slashing his throat.
I just don't get it. He doesn't deserve to live. Don't get me wrong, seeing him die, and him dying is a good thing. But the best part about it is that he would no longer have the greatest right of them all. Life. I would rather be poor, living in Cambodia giving blowjobs to earn a living than be dead. When people come close to death, and realize that their live isn't a movie, they realize that nothing is worse than death. And the killer should be killed as killed. Buried alive. That is what I propose, and what I think is best. Hand cuffed, and buried alive by Jessica's father. That's how it should be. In my perfect world of morality anyway. I can always dream. That's my take. I think its very, very evil to offer aid to anyone who has committed such a crime. Absolutely evil.

Like I said before, I would like to think I could forgive him, but I don't know if I would be able. I would like to be able to forgive him for my own sanity. I would hate to go through the rest of my life without my daughter and such hate built up inside of me. I'm sure for the crimes he has committed, he will come close to death a few times in prison, or atleast wish he were dead. Like I said, death is just way too easy for him. He has to live and suffer with what he has done. His crimes are horrible and I can't even imagine how I would feel if I knew my daughter was buried alive. Thats why I say that I *hope* I could react this way, but you are right we never know until we are put in that situation.

I understand that as a Christian, you TRY to forgive even the worst of people. Or at the least, you want to. With me, it's just not even imaginable. That word is the furthest from my mind. I understand the "I hope". But I just find it crazy that anyone would even hope to forgive such a person. I guess that's the difference between Christians and me. Any adult that takes a childs innocence away ought to pay a price. Not be frikken looked after in a cell for the rest of their lives at the cost of the tax payer. I dislike the word victim. I much prefer survivor... when all is said and done that's what us lucky ones do, we survive.
Well, in the case of Couey, it would be the victim. Because no one survived him. I mean, the father survived a horrible tragedy. But I understand exactly what you mean. In the beginning, they are a victim. And in the end, they are a survivor. Good point, Lesley.
