In America, all men and women are born equal in every sense. If Matt White and Joe Black are born on the very same day, they both have the exact same chance in life. We are all guaranteed an education, and with that education we can either move on and do something with it or sit down and play in the sand.
It's all about choices. Matt White and Joe Black have the same exact chance of becoming rich and successful, just by birth. If they want it, they can have it. What either gets them rich and successful or poor and miserable is their own choices. We control our own lives and our own destiny. If Matt White decides to goto college and be a Doctor, then that's his choice and his decision alone. If Joe Black decides to work at Footlocker after he gets out of high school to support his girlfriend who just had a baby, then that's his choice and his decision.
Matt White is on the path to becoming rich and successful and Joe Black is going to inevitably live a hard life paycheck to paycheck. Five years from this point, these two men will certainly not be equal as they were on the day of their birth, and probably all the way up until 5th grade.
Wether you're black, white, or brown, it makes no difference. George Bush is white, Condoleezza Rice is black, and Alberto Gonzalez is brown. They became rich and successful not because of the color of their skin, but only because of their own choices. In some cultures, particularly the black culture, it becomes exceedingly difficult to make good decisions simply because of the very nature of that culture. It's hard to decide to not take addicting drugs and waste your money on $5000 spinning chrome rims when your cult hero rap about how taking those drugs and having those rims is a cool thing. If these cult heroes were rapping about going to college, you might see a lot less poor black folk.
In the end, it's all about choices and decisions. We all have the same educational opportunity in this country and it's up to us as individuals to either stay or go. If you're poor and black and happen to live in a city with a grave flood threat, and decide to stick around and see how this category 4 hurricane is going to effect you, and you die in your attic as a result, then I would say you certainly made a terrible choice.
So for the 75% of black people who think that the people of New Orleans were treated based on their race, shut your fucking mouth. This is the same 75% I spoke of earlier who idealize their rap heroes. If this 75% lived in New Orleans, they would probably be there too. Black culture has a very strong way of holding back its own people. That's the truth of the matter, really. There's nothing racist about it. You people are fucking stupid because you listen to stupid fucking music that brainwashes you into becoming morons. The 75%, of course. This isn't to say that all people who listen to rap are morons. However, anyone who believes that the people of New Orleans would have been treated differently if they were white are simple products of their very own culture. Pity me, I have a different skin color than you. Pity us, we're black. Well I say fuck that, because you had the same chance as me.
How can they be so dim as to believe such a thing? How can 75% of blacks think this while 75% of whites believe the exact opposite? Something is seriously fucked up here. That's a pretty big number, and I think someone needs to explain why there is such a huge discrepancy. Luckily, I'm here to do that job.
It's a plethora. There are so many factors. This 75% feels like they're entitled, they're ignorant, and I blame their stupid rap culture in influencing them to the point that their intellectual development becomes stunted. There's some other factor that I'm missing. For some reason, they really believe everyone hates them. It's like this self-pity mental illness they have. They're just raised to believe they're being held down and that whites don't want them to succeed. This is all part of a very broad mindset that this 75% has.
If this isn't enough, I'll throw some logic into the mix to convince the 75% of blacks and 25% of whites that the color of these peoples' skin had nothing to do with the slow response time. Suppose you're Mike Brown, and you're in charge of Emergency Management. You are in a nominated position, not an elected one. You have a boss just like regular people. You have to do a good job or you'll get fired. Suppose that Mike Brown did in fact say "You know what, these people are black. Let's take our time." What good would that do him? How would he benefit? Would he sacrifice the chance and opportunity to be recognized as a hero and give up all the praise that would come his way just so he could do an easier job by taking his time with the black refugees?
I think not. He wanted to do very well. He didn't, and those reasons will appear after various Senate committees are done doing their job. George Bush wanted everything to work right. He's a politician and his poll numbers are at rock bottom. His legacy depended on good results. Unfortunately, this fucking ignorant 75% of blacks and 25% of whites just don't think for themselves, and I think that's what it comes down to. I think that missing factor is the lack of individuality. It's that simple really in the fact that they just don't use their own minds. They only echo the words of those they believe are smarter than them. I used to do that, when I was 14.
So keep this in mind: Rap holds back the black culture in the same way religion holds back humanity and civilization as a whole. (No flying cars) Matt White and Joe Black are born with an equal chance and opportunity to grow up and be whatever they want and do whatever they want, within reason. It all comes down to the choices we make. If you're not a minor and you're poor, it's your own fault. When you're over 18, there is nothing to stop you from getting a job, going to college, and earning your own way and becoming successful. The fucking minorities even have affirmative action working for them. So I don't want to hear any bitching. There's no such thing as "less fortunate." There is only good and poor decision making. Poor choices will result in a poor lifestyle. Teach that in high school, motherfuckers. I'll be awaiting my honorary PhD.

What if Matt White was born "John Doe" with no mother or father to care for him and addicted to cocaine to boot, and Joe Black was born Paris Hilton? Lets say you are out delivering a pizza one night. You just get back in your car and head off to the next house. CRASH!!! A drunk driver just t-bones you and paralizes you from the neck down. You are no longer able to work. The only money you receive is from the state because this idiot has no car insurance, and trying to get money from him would be like getting blood from a rock. You have no mother or father (for the sake of the story). Your girlfriend leaves you because she just can't handle the stress of knowing if she marries you, you could never support your family. You are broke, lonely, and can't even wipe your own butt. Who's fault is this? Your's for doing your job? Did you "control your own destiny?"

...One might think that whoever listens to this kind of music would have to have an attitude as follows. No one understands me. No one knows the pain I feel. I am so much deeper than anyone could possibly understand. All of these hundreds of thousands of people who listen to this music all think they are unique. How is that possible if they all feel the same pain? You spend your free time going to wrestling matches. Does that mean you go around fighting people all of the time?
Seeing as how you live in a 95% white county I will just assume you have very few if any black friends (not to mention your dislike for them). I on the other hand am a white male with many black, white, and hispanic friends. I have gone into stores with a handfull of black friends (while all of us at the time were college students) and have the security ask us to all leave because we were "acting suspicious." This didn't happen just once, it happened multiple times. No one was dressed all thugged out. They were just black, and the security just believed stereotypes like you. When people constantly treat you this way its hard. I do believe a lot of black people use this as a crutch, but they are not playing with the same deck of cards as us white people. My friends have overcame a lot of hate to make themselves good law abiding, upstanding citizens. I, nor you, have had to overcome the same amount of hate they have to deal with. I dated a black girl for awhile. I recieved a lot of hate just for liking a black person, let alone being one.
Its time for you to wake up and look at reality. I pray that you never run into a speed bump in your life. You need to stop believing you are better than other people. Do you not still live at home? Some people don't have parents they can mooch off of so they can save money and pay for college. There is more to this world than your little town. There are people out there you do not know exist. You sit at home and type your supremists thoughts on a computer thinking you know more than the average person. Son, you do not.

Ignorance holds back the mind, whether you are black, white, yellow, or brown. Ignorance is not just lack of education, but the belief you know everything. If you say we can be whatever we want to be, why do you say "within reason?"
I do not believe the government took so long to react to Katrina because of race. I also believe a lot of people are out of line using this as an excuse. This does not make it right for you to spread hate and ignorance. I would expect you to be a little smarter than that.

The problem is not about race. It is about culture.
It is not about the color of your skin. It is about the color of your view of self, others, God, world.

I think you are exactly right on here, Matt. I am white and I can't even begin to pretend to know what it is like to be black in America but I think it is more of a culture/class issue than a black/white/brown issue. I think a lot of people on welfare now have come from a long line of welfare recipients and it has become a way of life for them. Liberal politicians who pretend to be compassionate, keep them poor and dependent on the government so that they can keep getting elected. New Orleans is such a great example of a class of people who did not have a clue as to how to help themselves and survive on their own. They have been dependent for so long that all they knew to do was to sit and wait for someone to help them.
I also do not believe that most black people think that race was a factor in N Orleans at all.

All good points. But I do believe in the inherent LAZYNESS of almost everyone in this country.
I don't mean people don't work hard, I mean it's too easy to blame race for existing problems.

Rap culture is a problem and anyone who wants to be PC and say it isnt is an ostrich.
They are the same people who want to cloud the waters with emotions when they cant win on merits.
They will tell you how impossible it is to be black (cause they hang out with them) and then turn around and tell you how their black friends have made it despite all the odds and destroy their own argument.
Xmas eve I was in a blockbuster a few years back when this black guy stole a video game. I went and told the clerk who wanted to do nothing because he looked like a gangster. He saw me telling the clerk and he ditched the game in a magazine at the checkout then came over and got in my face with his black rage bs. He called me every name in the book that could demean my race and then called me a racist. What a black man cant shop without stealing. He got in my face and was really trying to intimidate me.
But see I knew he did what I said and the rest was BS but as I looked at others in the store they were completely buying it. So I first opened my jacket slightly so that he could see my Colt 1911 Combat Model Sidearm in its holster and that took care of his attitude. Then I walked over and opened the magazine and the game fell out.
Did anyone say anything to him. Nope the manager even went ahead and checked his girlfriend out at the register and told them to have a nice day. Hmm sound like he got treated different because he was black? Why do you think they didnt shoot any looters either in L.A. or New Orleans? Oh its racism alright. Its racist to do anything that might even ever have the hint of oppression. That is where we are. It also is a great illustration of a Democratic flaw.
Dems have been saying for years they would take care of the minorities and downtrodden while the Conservatives have said you need to help yourselves. Take advantage of the programs in place to better yourself and move one. Take care of yourself. To which the Dems say RACISM! Well now we have a graphic illustration of what happens when you depend on the government to help you. You get screwed. Help yourself, depend on yourself. So what if you are poor as dirt and have nothing, work hard and be self reliant. Hard work has become something dreaded in this country and the RAP culture is just one sign of that.
Hard working black people need to distance themselves from niggers.

I broke absolutely no laws. I carry a concealed handguns license along with the gun. Texas law states I can use lethal force to protect both people and property (not only my own).
What I did was defuse the situation, it saved me from having to lay an ass beating on the little punk because it was at the point where he was trying to provoke a confrontation.
He thought I would back down because everyone is so afraid of being called a racist. It is like the Scarlet Letter nowadays.
I suppose it was more manly of him to try to intimidate me with a made up agenda to keep him from taking any responsability for his own actions.
I simply dont agree with your statement about it being universally harder for blacks. I know racism exists in its real form (not the imagined one most are screaming about), the form that keeps people from advancing in life.
I just think it is far less prevalant than what they are trying to sale.
For the most part whitey has an easy job because black people are keeping themsleves down far better than we ever could.
It is a common thread in my posts that there are good and bad people and the good need to seperate themselves from the bad in a very vocal and real way. Therefore, you were in violation of PC section 9.31 of the texas concealed handgun laws, which states "The use of force against another is not justified: (1) in response to verbal provocation alone..."
Also see section 9.22 about necessity.

Your entire argument if flawed because you failed to notice the obvious. I don't talk in absolutes. Nothing is absolute. There are always exceptions to every rule and things are rarely 100%.
If something happens to someone that isn't their own fault or by their own choice, then of course I support government assistance. I think blind people ought to get a big fat check every month.
As for your second argument, I think Matt White could handle a girlfriend, college, and a child. I think the average person can handle this burden if they're determined enough. And there would be nothing wrong with working at Footlocker if the person was going through college at the time. The fact of the matter is, most people don't goto college because they just don't like school.
You picked just about the worst Korn song to quote. That song is from a speed induced band from 1996. That was the last song written for that album, and it was basically a thrown-away song. I also believe it has nothing to do with color, but with culture and class. And more often that not, a culture is directly responsible for for the class they're in. People are products of their culture, and they choose to be a part of that culture or to dissent from that culture.
I also believe that welfare is passed on from family to family. If you're raised to believe something is ok, then you generally end up doing it yourself. Heres a perfect example. My Mom and Dad had five kids, and the three of us that are old enough to work all hold management positions at our jobs. Now I wonder why that is. We've never been pressured to succeed. It could be the fact that my Mom has been a small business owner for 20 years. Maybe we realized something. My point is that we're products of our culture and upbringing.

Here comes James with the smart. It is a problem, and I wish political correctness wouldn't stand in the way of such a big problem in our society, as you pointed out. The fact of the matter is, if you want to succeed in this country, then you can. If I somehow became complete homeless and lost everything, I guarantee that within 4 years I could have a $60,000 a year job, a car, a house, a wife, and a child. It's all about determination.

You don't think it was justifiable for James to at least show off his weapon as he was being verbally attacked by an irate thief whom he just caught? People often times go on the offensive when they're put into a defensive situation. Especially towards the people who put him there. Of course it's an equal playing filed for black people. In fact, it's an unequal playing field for white people. Minorities have affirmative action. Who in the fuck decided it was a good idea to give someone a job just because they are black, brown, or yellow? That's unequal for the white people. Use your head.
Let me tell you something, any white kids who are part of that black culture dress the black culture. You're not going to see any white kids who are part of the black/rap culture wearing slick khaki jeans with a button up shirt. I don't think so. If you live it, you dress it. I've been to school in this decade - I know. Take my word for it.
The fact of the matter is, most people know black people don't succeed as often as whites and I think the average American wants to see blacks succeed. I know that if I was an employer, and I had two equally qualified people applying for jobs, one being white and one being black, I would probably pick the black dude just because I'm happy he's gotten as far as he has. And I think that illustrates the average American mindset. People aren't out to get the black people, PJ. They just know who's committing the majority of crimes.

I got the point of your story, James. And it made a very good example of the race card at work and the reaction to a white/black confrontation. I just have to really wonder what it is about all of this that makes PJ so apeshit. It seems all of his logic just suddenly went out of the window and someone else started posting under his name. I certainly admire your research into the details of this discussion, but I have to disagree. The use of force is not justified, but he never used any such force. Merely showing someone you have a gun without actually touching it is not use of force. It's a simple warning saying "If you touch me, I'm going to shoot you in your fucking head." Under the law, that certainly is not illegal. For him to be able to do this is the very essence of gun ownership. Protection.
If you were fucking going off on someone, and they politely pointed out that they had a gun, I'm willing to bet you'd shut the fuck up real fast. I know I would. I'd apologize and offer to mow his lawn.

There often is no reasoning in liberal discussion. Their guilt overwhelms them sometimes. I really believe that mental illnesses cause the far left liberalism. Actually Anthony, I did indeed see that movie today. I found it very entertaining. Good stuff. I love Christianity in fictional form. It makes for some very good entertainment like in The Prince of Egypt and any Exorcism movie. Very good stuff indeed.
Exorcism is real & true. I saw one with my own eyes. It is not fiction. I saw one in July 2001.
The Prince of Egypt is about the story of Exodus where there was a lot of exaggeration for a good reason: to show us the religious experience the Israelites experienced when they got out of Egypt.
But Exorcism is real. "You may not believe it is a fact, but is it possible?" Yes.
Funny Im the only one who has taken the CHL classes and been tested on the law yet you keep telling everyone they dont know the law. I am 100% sure if an inquest were held I would be justified. We go over this stuff relentlessly.
We do scenarios in class and one of them is quite similar. If somone has invaded you personal space and you feel they are a physical threat you have the right to threaten force to prevent immenent harm.
What that means is that a reasonable person thinks there is risk of bodily harm. I told you everyone in the store later said they thought he was gonna hit me. CASE CLOSED. The police would never even charge me. ITs Texas not Seattle. Look up the sundown law. Gun owners have more rights that criminals in Texas the way it should be.

As long as you have a legal guardian, you have the legal protection in the United States to be given a home at least until age 18. That's the same age where you're done with school, and you can have yourself have a scholarship and be on your way to college. This is assuming in some freak 1 in a million type scenario. The fact of the matter is, an absolutely tiny percentage of people may be put in a situation where their parents kick them out the day they turn 18. Do you realize how rare of a situation this is? From age 0 to age 18 we are on an equal playing field. After that point, the training wheels are off and you're on your own.

The eye infection turned out to be life threatening as the doctor stated and he kept me in the hospital running x-rays and cat scans; loading me up on antibiotics. But it's passed and I'm all better now however the doctor never gave me a diagnosis >.<

I never broke the law and I go to great lengths to always obey the law. I am a careful and responsable gun owner.

By definition life cant be full of absolutes. Extremes are called such because they arent the norm.

I am for fair and equitable treatment of all people. I have no quarrel with hard working decent people who work to make a better life and be part of America.
