Fuck Rosa Parks
You know, someone has to say it and it most certainly should be me. Fuck Rosa Parks. I am fucking sick of this shit. This woman is being honored like she's a fucking Messiah and it absolutely makes me sick. She died almost a week ago and shes still getting heavy news coverage. Bush even joined in on some reef laying fun. And for what? What did this so-called American hero do that was so great that deserves all of this praise and news coverage? Why is it such a huge deal that Rosa Parks died? William Rehnquist didn't even get this much news coverage. The last person to get this much time was the fucking Pope.
Here's what people don't want to realize. Rosa Parks did jack shit. Everyone calls her a "civil rights pioneer" and "the mother of the civil rights movement." I say bullshit, and it is bullshit. Rosa Parks did absolutely nothing that wasn't already done before here. First off, a true legend and civil rights pioneer, Jackie Robinson, did the exact same thing in 1944. He was tried and acquitted in a military court. Three years later, he was the first black guy to play Major League Baseball. That is a fucking pioneer.
Another thing people need to realize is that Rosa Parks did absolutely shit after 1956. She didn't speak out. She didn't even participate in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. All she did to "fight" was to fight the charges against her. That's it. She did absolutely nothing for civil rights from 1956-2005. This is what aggravates me most about this woman.
She has this wonderful opportunity to do so much for the black community. Yet she did nothing. She refused to get up, the media picked up the story and hammered it into the ground, and she became an "icon." That gave her a huge amount of power, and she could have done so much. I don't think you people realize she literally did nothing else in her life worth anything but refuse to get up. After this happened, she quit and went to be a hostess at a hotel, then a seamstress for a white family, and then in the 60's some congressman gave her a job and she kept that until she retired. That's it.
So now that I've laid this out, you have to ask yourself if she really did anything worth this news coverage. It wasn't even her actions that started the civil rights movement. Here's something you don't know. The same was true is 1955 as it is today; the NCAAP is and was the most powerful black organization in the country. Guess who worked for the NCAAP as a secretary at the time of the bus incident? Ding, ding, ding. Rosa Parks.
It wasn't necessarily Rosa Parks that made a difference. It was really the NCAAP. They only used Rosa Parks situation. They fucked with one of their employees and they took it personally. She didn't speak out, she didn't fight, she didn't hold rallies, she didn't do a fucking thing for her people. After the bus incident, she had the opportunity to make a huge difference, and she chose not to. I say fuck Rosa Parks primarily because of this. She's being honored for doing absolutely nothing when she had the chance to actually make a difference for her people when they really needed it. Instead, she ran away right after and found a new job. She did nothing else in her life, yet she's honored. I say she's a disgrace and a fucking disappointment to the black community.
So you see this farce of a civil rights icon being honored, but I think it's important to look at a true civil rights icon. The motherfucking man, Jackie Robinson.
After leaving UCLA his senior year, Robinson enlisted in the US Army during World War II. He trained with the segregated U.S. 761st Tank Battalion. Initially refused entry to Officer Candidate School, he fought for it and eventually was accepted, graduating as a second lieutenant. While training at Fort Hood, Texas, Robinson refused to go to the back of a bus. He was court-martialed for insubordination, and therefore never shipped out to Europe with his unit. He received an honorable discharge in 1944, after being acquitted of all charges at the court-martial.
What a man. First off, he had to fight to get into the military school. After that, he did exactly what Rosa Parks did, 11 years earlier. He then missed out on going to war for what he trained for, did it all for nothing, and then received an honorable discharge. Three years later he was playing baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. The first black man to play professional baseball. This is a civil rights icon. This is a pioneer.
Rosa Parks can't hold a fucking candle to Jackie Robinson. She did nothing. Not only did she do nothing, but she could have done so much more with the fame she had. Instead, she used it to get a pretty fucking good paying job for a congressman. She did do something great and brave, but she is not this ultimate icon and pioneer that the media is playing her off as. Nowhere even close. She just refused to get up, which was a brave thing. But 50 years later, it isn't anywhere near worthy of this sort of coverage.
That's just what the media does though. Notice how you only care if people die when it's either a large number of people or someone you know? It could be a family member or someone you knew from high school. Or it could be 9/11. No one cares about the 5 troops that died in Iraq on any given day. No one cares about the woman who is being raped as I type this. No one cares about the murders that are being committed as I type this. Because you don't know them. Everyone knows Rosa, and that's why the media is slamming this.
Regardless, it's undeserved fame and it fucking pisses me off beyond belief. Mostly because she had a chance and was given the power to do so much in life, and she did nothing for her people. Now we're stuck with the likes of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, who use their race as a power card. What a great alternative to who Rosa Parks could have been.
Wilma
Im about 50 miles north of Tampa and Wilma is going to probably own me. I'm going to stay up and watch the entertainment. It just upgraded to a cat 3, but I don't expect things to get too bad around here. I'll probably temporarily lose power. Other than that, I should be good. We'll see how things good. If anything neat happens here, I'll take some pics and throw them up.
I haven't been posting much lately because my girlfriend bought a new car and I've been working on it a lot and getting it in good running condition. Things should be back to normal soon. The news has also sucked lately. Not too much goodness to bitch about. Although, I've got a good post coming up about some bitch who tried to push religion on me in a professional setting. Details later, but the story is a doozy.
I'll keep posting tonight (hopefully) as things get better (or worse) and I'll probably just add to this post with updates so I don't clutter things up. My girlfriend's staying here with me tonight so I'll be busy hanging out with her until she goes to bed. Off I go.
My Epiphany
I had an epiphany on Tuesday. I was at the Museum of Science and Industry and it all clicked. I made a major realization and it will be extremely difficult to convey this realization to other people, but I'm going to try.
Basically, I found God. It's true, and let's talk about faith for a minute. Every person on this planet has their own unique belief and interpretation of the word of their God. No two Muslims will agree 100% on the interpretation of the Quran. No two Christians will agree 100% on every word in the Bible or interpret everything the same. Because of this fact, we are left with an interesting result. "God" is unique to every person who believes in it.
No two people have the exact same image of God. Every person has their own unique understanding and belief. However, there is one question that can never be known for sure to the man or woman of faith. Wether you believe in Allah, God, Jesus Christ, Mohammad, Buddha, or Yahweh, there is one ultimate question that the believer will never know. If your God created everything we on Earth, and controls everything, then who created him? Where did he come from? Who is his God? Even the idea of "him" or "her" is a strange one when dealing with the concept of al almighty supreme controller of the universe.
I figured it out though, and it's really quite simple. Often times, people will make have these epiphanies when something extreme is displayed in a simple way, or happens in a simple way. Meet the creator of God.
This is God. It is undisputable and factual if you know the power of our brains. I made this simple realization that I haven't even fully comprehended yet while holding a Polymer Preserved human brain in my hands. I was literally standing there, holding a human brain saying "holy fuck." Not just because it was a brain, but because I my own brain was getting these solutions and answers before even knowing the problem. I'm working backwards here, trying to find these problems and questions that this epiphany has answered.
You see, you have to understand just how powerful the brain it. It is God. Physically, it is the God of your body. It rules you, it controls you, and you control it. The potential of the human brain is infinite. 1000 years ago, would the people of that day actually believe that what I'm able to do right now with my thoughts and this keyboard was possible? The potential of the human brain made this possible.
And the creator of God; isn't it obvious? Take a look around in the world we live in. Focus, and take in everything you see. Everything you look at was created by the human brain. Not God, folks. None of em. Because in the end, the idea of a God and the idea of a supreme being who is in control of everything is just another creation of the human brain. It's just as simple as the computer you're using to read this. While it is a complex device, it was still created by the human brain. More than likely, a team of brains. The same applies to everything you look at, including that Bible or that Quran.
If you can step outside of your own religious belief for a moment, and be unafraid to make the realization, you just might see that the human brain is more powerful and real than religion ever has or ever can be. Your brain is with you right now, and it's working hard to understand what I'm saying. What's your God doing? Perhaps he's working on another natural disaster. I suppose he's in a phase right now where he just can't get enough of killing mass amount of those people he supposedly loves and who he will always protect and forgive. The Asian Tsunami, Katrina, Pakistani Earthquake, Iraqi bridge collapse, etc. This mass death is everywhere. Give it up. Just stop it.
As a society, we need to evolve. After more than 2000 years of intelligent "modern" life, we are generations upon generations behind. We should be taking vacations to other galaxies by now. This failure to evolve is primarily the result of an absolutely restricting and unnecessary belief. There is no God who spoke to Mohammed and there is no God who impregnated Mary with his son. There is only one God, and it is the God who created Islam and the God who created Christianity. The human brain, folks. It's an idea that snow balled. Nothing more, nothing less. Wake up and stop the preying and the studying of religion. Stop wasting your precious time on Earth. Your life is not infinite. When you die, you're gone. That's the end of the story and there will never be a sequel.
Stop wasting your time and start believing in yourself. Forget about the idea of a deity or a God. I understand it's a comforting idea, and it is especially difficult or maybe even impossible to forget an idea when it's imprinted onto your brain from the moment you can talk an understand words. It's like poisoning the water, like an enemy within, and like HIV to the body. What you need to take control of is being controlled by something you have no access to. A circumstance you may not be able to change, depending on your upbringing. However, I do understand that the idea of a God is comforting and makes live a lot easter. I know it's nice going through life believing that your life will never truly end. It's the best lie to believe. It must also be nice never feeling alone. Whenever you want to talk to someone, they're there to pray to.
But at the end of the day, and in reality, you're talking to the floor. In reality, you're believing an absurd lie. Wake up and pay attention to the one and only true God that we know for a fact exists. That brain inside your skull. You can figure out a plan and apply it when it comes to this issue of vacationing in other galaxies. Really, you can. You may not want to, but that brain of yours has the strength and power to do it. If you're young enough, you just might have enough time to plan it and start applying it while trusting others to see it through succession.
This doesn't happen though. Your brains are controlled by that idea of religion. It's like a strangle hold on your potential and freedom. You could be so much more than you really are, but religion and lack of understanding is stopping you. You can be successful and religious, and believe in the lie. But you will never be as good as you could be. If you lived life according to true word of your God, you would not survive. So stop believing the lie and wake the fuck up. Realize that God is in you. You are your own God. That idea you have of God... take everything you know of his power, and apply it to yourself. That's you, and that God lives right inside your skull. It can create a brand new earth if it wanted. Human potential and infinite and anything is possible.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that society needs to stop wasting their life. I mean, the human brain is the most powerful thing that ever has been or ever will be, but human life is probably the most precious thing that ever has or ever will. Human life is the existence of your brain. It's an hourglass and when your time's up, you're done. No overtime, no extra innings, and no sudden death. Knowing this fact, don't waste the precious time. Live life the way you want to live life. Become something great and use that potential. Or, use that potential to be the happiest person you know of. As long as you're using it and not wasting it on an outdated idea of a fucking supreme being. Just stop it already, and take control of your own life. The responsibility is great, but the rewards are unlimited.
Just think about it. Just think about what our brains have created. Think as deeply as you possibly can and focus as much as you can. Do this for an hour, and then read one page out of the Bible. Your first thought will be absurdity. If you stare at reality long enough, you just might wake up from the lie. It's hard to escape because it's hardwired into your very own God. But when you hear the whispers of the absurdity when you read that page, and when you realize just how extremely unbelievable the idea of religion is, don't be afraid. It's ok to say goodbye to brother Jesus and father God and move out and get your own place where you take care of yourself and assume full control of your life and destiny.
I hope you get it. The ultimate answer summarized: God = Human brain... Think about it.
Court Protects Anonymous Blogger
Out of Dover, Delaware comes a lovely story featuring some of my favorite subjects. Good old government corruption and abuse of power mixed in with free speech and the internet. This is a total Matt story.
Yesterday, the Delaware Supreme Court overturned a lower court's ruling requiring a local ISP to disclose the identity of an anonymous blogger who targeted a local elected official. This blogger did nothing that I don't already do. Let's review some of the comments against local jackoff Cahill that the article cites.
He made obscenity-laced tirades against him
Pointed out the local official's "obvious mental deterioration"
Made sexual references about him and his wife
Gave Cahill the nickname "Gayhill"
So Cahill calls defamation and sues. The local douche bag Judge apparently hasn't read that little document called the Constitution and issues an order to Comcast to release the identity of the blogger. How this first Judge could ever allow this to go forward in the first place is not only disturbing, it's scary. Seeing blatant violations of the Constitutions like this, especially in my own arena, is enough to give me a panic attack.
The fact of the matter is, there is no defamation. From a legal sense or a logical sense. To defame is to damage the good reputation of someone, according to Oxford. The fact of the matter is that if this douche bag Cahill was a great local politician with a good reputation, a blogger wouldn't be talking about him in the first place. Obviously, he did something to damage his own reputation.
Let me also point out that if there was a lawsuit for every person who made an opinion that damaged one's good reputation, then every court in the U.S. would be stacked for years with these frivolous bullshit cases. Every news commentator, every broadcaster, anyone with a microphone or a website would be libel. This is just a simple abuse of power and a blatant attempt to censor free speech and to choke out the first amendment.
Thankfully, we have a hero in this day's news story and that hero comes in the form of Delaware Chief Justice Myron Steele. What a fucking cool name. Myron Steele. Does that not sound like a super hero or what? Anyway, Judge Steele, who probably came to have this last name because he literally has balls of steel, ruled harshly against the original verdict and made this statement:
"We are concerned that setting the standard too low will chill potential posters from exercising their First Amendment right to speak anonymously," Steele wrote. "The possibility of losing anonymity in a future lawsuit could intimidate anonymous posters into self-censoring their comments or simply not commenting at all."
My fucking hero. So wise and enlightened. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I see a story like this. It gives me hope that perhaps there are decent people in power who are actually going to protect our rights, without a political agenda or a glimmer of corruption. Myron Steele, TheSick.Net salutes you.
I take special interest in this case because I know it's only a matter of time before this happens to me. Like another terrorist attack in the U.S., it's not a question of will, but a question of when. I'm just waiting for the day to come where I verbally brutalize the wrong person who has money to waste on a lawyer. It's only a matter of time, really.
This is why the free speech subject is so important to me. Anonymity on the internet is a right we have in this wonderful cyber world. That's the beauty of it. I choose not to be anonymous, because I also have balls of steel. But many people in different situations have positions or careers in life where speaking their mind on certain subjects could get them into trouble. The right of anonymity on the internet is essential in preserving the specialness of this whole thing. It's just very good to see that the hero of the day, Judge Myron "balls of" Steele preserved that special right and protected an anonymous blogger; allowing him to exercise his constitutionally mandated right and prevented a butt hurt local douche bag politician from abusing his power and the legal system to censor speech against him.
