Fuck Rosa Parks

Here's what people don't want to realize. Rosa Parks did jack shit. Everyone calls her a "civil rights pioneer" and "the mother of the civil rights movement." I say bullshit, and it is bullshit. Rosa Parks did absolutely nothing that wasn't already done before here. First off, a true legend and civil rights pioneer, Jackie Robinson, did the exact same thing in 1944. He was tried and acquitted in a military court. Three years later, he was the first black guy to play Major League Baseball. That is a fucking pioneer.
Another thing people need to realize is that Rosa Parks did absolutely shit after 1956. She didn't speak out. She didn't even participate in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. All she did to "fight" was to fight the charges against her. That's it. She did absolutely nothing for civil rights from 1956-2005. This is what aggravates me most about this woman.
She has this wonderful opportunity to do so much for the black community. Yet she did nothing. She refused to get up, the media picked up the story and hammered it into the ground, and she became an "icon." That gave her a huge amount of power, and she could have done so much. I don't think you people realize she literally did nothing else in her life worth anything but refuse to get up. After this happened, she quit and went to be a hostess at a hotel, then a seamstress for a white family, and then in the 60's some congressman gave her a job and she kept that until she retired. That's it.
So now that I've laid this out, you have to ask yourself if she really did anything worth this news coverage. It wasn't even her actions that started the civil rights movement. Here's something you don't know. The same was true is 1955 as it is today; the NCAAP is and was the most powerful black organization in the country. Guess who worked for the NCAAP as a secretary at the time of the bus incident? Ding, ding, ding. Rosa Parks.
It wasn't necessarily Rosa Parks that made a difference. It was really the NCAAP. They only used Rosa Parks situation. They fucked with one of their employees and they took it personally. She didn't speak out, she didn't fight, she didn't hold rallies, she didn't do a fucking thing for her people. After the bus incident, she had the opportunity to make a huge difference, and she chose not to. I say fuck Rosa Parks primarily because of this. She's being honored for doing absolutely nothing when she had the chance to actually make a difference for her people when they really needed it. Instead, she ran away right after and found a new job. She did nothing else in her life, yet she's honored. I say she's a disgrace and a fucking disappointment to the black community.
So you see this farce of a civil rights icon being honored, but I think it's important to look at a true civil rights icon. The motherfucking man, Jackie Robinson.
After leaving UCLA his senior year, Robinson enlisted in the US Army during World War II. He trained with the segregated U.S. 761st Tank Battalion. Initially refused entry to Officer Candidate School, he fought for it and eventually was accepted, graduating as a second lieutenant. While training at Fort Hood, Texas, Robinson refused to go to the back of a bus. He was court-martialed for insubordination, and therefore never shipped out to Europe with his unit. He received an honorable discharge in 1944, after being acquitted of all charges at the court-martial.
What a man. First off, he had to fight to get into the military school. After that, he did exactly what Rosa Parks did, 11 years earlier. He then missed out on going to war for what he trained for, did it all for nothing, and then received an honorable discharge. Three years later he was playing baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. The first black man to play professional baseball. This is a civil rights icon. This is a pioneer.
Rosa Parks can't hold a fucking candle to Jackie Robinson. She did nothing. Not only did she do nothing, but she could have done so much more with the fame she had. Instead, she used it to get a pretty fucking good paying job for a congressman. She did do something great and brave, but she is not this ultimate icon and pioneer that the media is playing her off as. Nowhere even close. She just refused to get up, which was a brave thing. But 50 years later, it isn't anywhere near worthy of this sort of coverage.
That's just what the media does though. Notice how you only care if people die when it's either a large number of people or someone you know? It could be a family member or someone you knew from high school. Or it could be 9/11. No one cares about the 5 troops that died in Iraq on any given day. No one cares about the woman who is being raped as I type this. No one cares about the murders that are being committed as I type this. Because you don't know them. Everyone knows Rosa, and that's why the media is slamming this.
Regardless, it's undeserved fame and it fucking pisses me off beyond belief. Mostly because she had a chance and was given the power to do so much in life, and she did nothing for her people. Now we're stuck with the likes of Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, who use their race as a power card. What a great alternative to who Rosa Parks could have been.

Matt, you really need to study your facts before you start your rantings. She did "speak out." She said "no, I will not get up." She did "fight." Twelve years previous to this she was thrown off the bus driven by the same driver. This time she finally had enough. She took a stance. She did hold "rallies." She started a year long anti-bus rally. The black people, I believe nearly forty thousand of them, refused to ride the buses for over a year because of this. This caused the over turning of the Jim Crow laws. After the "bus incedent" she did make a "huge difference." In 1987, Mrs. Parks created the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development to honor Mrs. Parks' late husband, Raymond, who died in 1977. Today, the institute is internationally known for its Pathways to Freedom, a program for young people that traces the physical and philosophical path of the civil rights movement.
Oh, yeah....its the NAACP. Not the NCAAP.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a ton of comments by now from people telling you that you "really need to check your facts," etc.
Hey, Sedric the Entertainer even said in Barbershop. He wasn't trying to make her look like she did absolutely nothing, but it made people think maybe she wasn't the martyr she's made out to be.
PJ
Ah PJ, your politically correct liberal soul is often admirable, but it would be much more beneficial to your own self if you could see things how they really are.
I studied my facts. I read lots of material before I started writing. The woman did jack shit. I do this with all my posts. I rarely start talking about something before I've made myself familiar with the details.
Rosa Parks said nothing. She committed an act, that act being refusing to listen to a bus driver. Document proof of these "rallies", because I call bullshit. I also find it curious that she "started" a "year long anti-bus rally." It really lasted for a year, huh? That makes no fucking sense, man. Ridiculous.
Also PJ, you really shouldn't plagiarize. It's just bad all around. The whole second half of your goofy rebuttal was copied and pasted. It's the same material I read and researched. Unlike you, I actually read it, internalized it, and then talk about what I read.
She did nothing. The organizations around her did. She took it in the ass and rolled over after her court business was over. She's very timid, in her own words. The media hammering her story caused the Montgomery Bus Boycot. Not her stepping up and holding rallies, PJ. Try again. My facts are correct, and your facts are copied and pasted.
As for my saying NCAAP vs NAACP, deal with it. It's not my fault their stupid fucking acronym can be easily confused with the well known college sports acronym. I had the write letters, and you knew what I was talking about. I like how you can point out my errors so well, but when it comes to facts and valid rational points, you've got nothing. That's the way it goes though. When you've got nothing, attack the person and not their points.

I know, the fact that she was a woman really glamorizes this whole situation. Still, I just do not like seeing people receive recognition and honor that they do not deserve and that they have not earned.

I'm surprised too. The reason for it is that I've been extremely inconsistent with my posting lately. My girlfriend got a new car and moved into an apartment so I've been extremely busy with all of that stuff. Plus I've been looking at other jobs and thinking of making a career change so I haven't been very active.
So when the consistency stops, people stop adding my site to the "sites to check for an update" list. They don't want to waste their time.
I remember that quote from Barbershop. It was funny, and it sort of shocked me seeing a black dude say that. But it was funny because that was his awesome character in that movie. He was all about personal responsibility. I also remember Jessie Jackson boycotting the movie and playing his fucking race card.
I also remember Rosa Parks filing a frivolous lawsuit against Outkast. What a civil rights pioneer. A song is named after you, it becomes immensely popular and you fucking file suit? $$$$$$$$$$ What a woman, completely deserving of all of this respect and honor.
"The boycott continued for over a year. It eventually took the United States Supreme Court to end the boycott. On November 13, 1956 the Court declared that Alabama's state and local laws requiring segregation on buses were illegal. On December 20th federal injunctions were served on the city and bus company officials forcing them to follow the Supreme Court's ruling."
Eeeaaaaasssssyyy killer!! Why so irate over a correction in spelling? Was your intelligence questioned? No. I was just letting you know you had the letters turned around. I was gonna let it slide, but then I realized you did it repeatedly so I thought you might not know the correct order. Just trying to help you out.
