Saint Matt Is Alive

I wake up at 6:00 AM, drive two hours to Tampa. Spend the majority of the day at school (Broadcasting/Communications). Leave at 2, get home at 4:30 PM. Leave at 5:00, work until 11:30, and I have to be sleeping by 12:30, or else I won't get anywhere near enough sleep. I do this Sunday through Thursday. Then I play catch up with everything I didn't have time to do during the week on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Its rough. Today's Sunday, so I have a little time. Plus I'm tired as balls all the time so I'm napping a lot. I'm not whining though. I am very happy to be in the position that I'm in. On my way to the future. I'm simply offering an explanation as to why I've been lacking in the writing. The people who read my site often deserve it at least.
I've been doing a lot of neat stuff though. I'm honing my skills as a radio performer. I can run the board at our school pretty well in relation to my experience, and last week we took a tour of Home Shopping Network. That was neat. Our group was acknowledged on camera multiple times. You'd think they wouldn't do that, but they did. It was funny walking in on hot sets and seeing the talent on camera get distracted by us walking in. We also got to eat a bunch of food from a cooking segment. It was awesome. The good news is that I'll have a lot more time at the start of November, so you can really expect me to be regular during that time. Despite popular opinion, I am in fact alive and well.
A few people that aren't alive and well are 4 nuns that were given saint status today. How fucking stupid is that? What's the point of it all, really? I mean, I understand these people really believe that there is an afterlife, but why the status change? Sure it's a great status to have if you're a part of the Church, but uhh... you're not part of the Church when you're dead.
4 great lady's, no doubt. But I just don't understand the benefit of the new status. When you talk about them, you can refer to them as Saint X, Y, and Z. As if their greatness is somehow your doing. That's what it's all about, really. The Catholic Church is hijacking their legacy. They're straight up yoinking it from them and saying "Hey! Everything you ever did is because of us and our God." It's crazy how one little title can do that, but it does.
Think of Mother Theresa. She was a Saint, and when people think of her and her memory, they think of all the amazing things she did for mankind... because she did it for God. It's true, folks. Hijacking the legacy of great dead ladies. Not cool, Zeus. Not cool at all. I call foul on the Church. Saint Matt shall point out the truth and reveal the bullshit.

I'm sure after you die they will make you the first male Saint.

Matt,
The 4 new saints weren't all nuns. It was a nun, a bishop and two Italian clergy. However, I agree that it does seem pointless to bestow sainthood on someone after their death. Where's the fun in that? I don't know if death is a requirement of sainthood, but it sure would make it a much less attractive goal.
Welcome back.
My wife is catholic. When we were dating she took me to an appreciation dinner her church was having. She taught third graders and was in the choir. The priest started talking about some guy who had just died. This guy willed the church like $2 million, so they gave him a plaque on there "wall of saints." Come to find out, when he was alive they didn't even consider him a member of their church, just his late-wife. That almost made me sick to my stomach. The only thing that made me feel a little worse was when the priest was continuing with his talk, he almost tripped and muttered out loud, "Oh God!!!" He was trashed. They had an open bar at the church for a church function. I have no respect for the catholic church.
i guess becoming a saint is similar to having your face on US currency - you have to be dead.
Hey Matt, you can also become a saint. It is not something difficult.
In fact, it is not that the Church makes someone a saint. Rather, it is the person who lived a holy life and now deserves honor & respect.
Before the Church declares you a saint, it is necessary for at least 5 years to have passed since your death to allow objectivity in evaluating the case.
Witnesses are called before the Church tribunal to recount concrete facts on the exercise of Christian virtues considered heroic. Then, two miracles verified by atheist physicians are needed, attributed to your intercession.
What is the benefit of the new status? The person becomes an example for many people.
Sainthood is a proof that what this person believed in was true.
Matt,
You are Angel Anthony. You created an account under that pseudo-name to make your own blog more 'interesting'. It is blatantly obvious that you are the editor of the Angel Anthony blog. Even your style of writing is extremely similiar. A not-so-clever ploy. Get a life, dickwad.
All the worst,
Victor The Vayne
I wish it was me, because it would have been hilarious. That's the beauty of Anthony. You can go back to around June of last year and see his progression.
I'll admit, it is very weird to see someone so interested in me. I can see how you can make the conclusion that I am playing the part of Anthony. But honestly, Anthony is Anthony.
I would have never had time to maintain any sort of fake internet character. I barely have time to keep up my own blog. I could never handle two blogs. I could never be two people on the internet when I can barely be myself.
Read through his entire blog and you'll see that he's not me. Really look through it. Compare uses of words and vocabulary structure. The answer is in his blog.
And I really, really wish that you could express an opinion with out acting like a little fucking wannabe hardcore kid. Why the "dickwad?" Absolutely uncalled for. In the act of resorting to name calling in the end of your comment, with no previous provocation, you completely negate any credibility you would have had. Basically, screaming HEY IM A LITTLE KID WHO HAS AN OPINION just doesn't work for me, fucko.
Have a nice one.
Anthony, I've missed you. I appreciate you filling me in on the details of sainthood. However, I still think the church is hijacking their legacies.
Matt, I've missed you too. I've been working hard in evangelization in Lebanon. Soon, I will get back to the US.
If I start to make miracles through my intercession, then, the Church will declare me a saint. That doesn't mean she steals my legacy. Instead, it means she recognizes me a holy person worthy to be an example.
The same thing with Noble Prize. It is just a recognition of someone's contribution.
I understand your point, Anthony. But you're talking apples and oranges. Sainthood is so powerful that is literally takes over a person's legacy and makes them something else after death. And in some cases, maybe those people don't want it. That's all I'm saying.
Tell that homo I'm not you.
Matt,
If they don't want holiness, they won't get it. To become a saint is to be closer to the Holy One. That's the point. What makes someone a saint? It is his closeness to God. This is why everyone can become a saint.
This homo seems to be naif. Has he ever read my posts? Has he ever checked my style? At least check the location. Can Matt be present in two different places? (Florida - Lebanon)? may be Victor the Vayne is still in Grade 7.
Matt,
Since you no longer deemed our argument over AIM worthy of debate, and so blocked me, I'd like to conclude here and now:
I told you before: debating a topic based on a hypothetical that has never happened doesn't do jack shit for your position. In other words, you're another person who cannot debate contextually and instead must defend it on the basis of an event that basically never occurs.
I expected you to lose your argument, and also expected to be met with things such as "fair point, however...". But, it seems you'd rather block me and have a hissy fit.
This blog is a show where you can create an identity and slip into it whenever you want. The real Matt will never show on this blog. Just a miserable, whinning shadow of a human being.
Best regards,
Victor The Vayne
Uhhh... I have no idea who you were talking to on AIM, but it certainly wasn't me. I haven't had an AIM conversation in over a week. Not even with family. Like I keep repeating, I literally have no time for any shenanigans.
My AIM sn is THES1CK. I don't block anyone, so you evidently messaged the wrong person.
As for this entire saint thing. I barely give a shit. My main post was to check in, and then I just gave a little tid bit of an opinion piece. After next Friday, I'll be posting regularly again since I'll be done with school. Then you'll be getting opinions that I will fully defend.
As for this saint bullshit, I'm not THAT into it. It was more like a passing comment.
And if you read through the comments on my site, when I disagree with people I generally repeat their position to show that I fully comprehend them, and then I disagree. I only get confrontational with people with they're rude cunts, like you were with the dickwad comment.
And I've created no identity here, trust me on that. The person I am on the internet is the same person in real life. I can't tell you how often I go on verbal tirades just like this at work, at home, and at school. I am an opinion giver by heart, and I just happen to be a good writer so I can effectively express that opinion.
You have a misinterpretation of the "real Matt" because you haven't really talked to him on AIM. I don't know how you managed that. But anyone who knows me knows that this is exactly how I am in real life, except instead of cursing with a keyboard I will occasionally launch something across a room while passionately expressing my opinion.
Message me or email me directly next time. matt.thesick@gmail.com.
